Join our team as Research Associates (m/f/d) in the research area of material simulations and AI-based modelling full-time (39.2 hr/week), fixed term for two years.

Leibniz-IWT stands for research in the field of new materials, new processes and optimised components. Our work is interdisciplinary, international and practical. The scientific questions in our institute range from the production of materials, such as powder production for additive manufacturing, to the analysis of the final machined components, for example high-precision gears. This is how we shape the requirements of tomorrow.

We need your expertise for:

• independent project work in the newly founded research area of "Digital Technologies" with a focus on computer-aided high-throughput methods and AI-supported model development
• presentation of scientific results at international conferences and in publications
• support in teaching at the University of Bremen
• participation in the acquisition of third-party funded projects

Voraussetzungen

What we expect from you:

• successfully completed studies in engineering or natural sciences
• expertise in materials science and materials engineering, in particular methods of computational material science (e.g. DFT, CALPHAD)
• programming skills, e.g. Python
• basic knowledge of data mining and machine learning
